Cameron Ward #1 

The 2025 NFL Draft started with a bang. The Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward. Ward, who played QB for Miami and previously Washington State. He started his career at Incarnate Word. In his first two seasons, he threw for 6,908 yards and 71 touchdowns. In his two seasons at Washington State, he threw for 6,966 yards and 48 touchdowns. In his final season at Miami, he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns. His total passing stats in all five seasons were: 18,187 yards and 158 touchdowns. 


NHL Playoffs 

The first round of the NHL playoffs has started. The President’s Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets lead the St.Louis Blues 2-1. The Jets took a 2-0 lead with 5-3 and 2-1 wins. St.Louis was able to strike back with a 7-2 win. The Dallas Stars lead the Colorado Avalanche 2-1. Colorado started with a 5-1 win making the series 1-0. Dallas struck back with 4-3 and 2-1 wins. The Minnesota Wild lead the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1. Vegas jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 4-2 win. Minnesota then won two games 5-2 each. The Los Angeles Kings lead the Edmonton Oilers 2-1. Los Angeles won two games 6-5 and 6-2 to start the series o. Edmonton struck back with a 7-4 win. In the Battle of Ontario, the Toronto Maple Leafs lead the Ottawa Senators 3-0. Toronto won their three games by scores of 6-2, 3-2, and 3-2. The Leafs will have a chance to complete the sweep tonight at 7:00pm in Ottawa. The defending champion Florida Panthers currently lead the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0. The Panthers won the games 6-2 and 2-0. The Washington Capitals lead the Montreal Canadiens 2-1. The Capitals jumped out to a 2-0 lead at home winning 3-2 and 3-1. The Canadiens fought back, winning 6-3 in Game 3. The Carolina Hurricanes lead the New Jersey Devils 2-1. The Hurricanes won games 1 and 2 by scores of 4-1 and 3-1. The Devils took Game 3, winning 3-2 in overtime.


NBA Playoffs 

The NBA playoffs first round is underway and eight series are going strong. The Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Memphis Grizzlies 3-0. The Thunder won the first three games 131-80, 118-99, and 114-108. The Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets, who both finished 50-32, are locked playing in the first round. Los Angeles leads 2-1 over Denver. The scores of the first three games were Denver 112- Los Angeles 110, Los Angeles 105- Denver 102, and Los Angeles 117- Denver 83. The #6 seed Minnesota Timberwolves lead the #3 Los Angeles Lakers 2-1. Minnesota won Games 1 and 3 by scores of 117-95 and 116-104. Los Angeles won Game 2 94-85. The young Houston Rockets and veteran Golden State Warriors are tied 1-1. The Warriors won the first game 95-85. The Rockets won the second game 109-94. The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Miami Heat 2-0. The Cavaliers won Games 1 and 2 by scores of 121-100 and 121-112. The Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks are in a 2-1 series. The Pacers won Games 1 and 2 by scores of 117-98 and 123-115. The Bucks won Game 3 117-101. The New York Knicks lead the Detroit Pistons 2-1. New York won Game 1 123-112 and Game 3 118-116. Detroit won Game 2 100-94. The defending champion Boston Celtics lead the Orlando Magic 2-1. Boston won the first two games 103-86 and 109-100. Orlando won Game 3 by a score of 95-93. 


24 Runs in One Game!! 

On April 20th, the Cincinnati Reds beat the Baltimore Orioles 24-2. The scoring started in the second inning for the Reds, with an Austin Wynns single that scored Noveli Marte. The Orioles tied it at one before the Reds broke the game open. In the third, Elly de la Cruz hit a solo homer. Jake Fraley singled, scoring Austin Hays and Gavin Lux. Spencer Steer scored on a failed picko attempt to get Fraley in. Wynns singled, scoring Fraley. Friedl tripled, scoring Wynns, and McLain singled, scoring Friedl. At the end of the 3rd inning, it was 8-1 Cinicinnati. In the fourth, Marte doubled to right, scoring Lux and Wynns hit a single, scoring Marte. The score was now 10-1 in favor of Cincinnati. In the fifth, Hays hit a double, scoring Mclain and Lux drove in Hays on a single. At the end of the sixth inning, the score was 12-1 Cincinnati. In the seventh, Steer hit an RBI double, driving in Hays. Blake Dunn singled to score Lux, and Marte drove in Steer on a single. In the 8th inning, Dunn was hit by a pitch, allowing McLain to score. Then Marte top of the run-fest by hitting a grand slam homerun, driving in himself, Hays, Lux, and Dunn. Adley Rutschman hit a homer for the Orioles making it 20-2 Reds. In the 9th, Marte doubled to score Steer, before Wynns hit a three-run homer to score himself, Dunn, and Marte. The final score: Cincinnati 24, Baltimore 2!
