World Series

The World Series has started. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays are battling for the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Dodgers swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS. The Blue Jays won in seven games versus the Seattle Mariners.

Game 1 was at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The first runs of the night came on an Enrique Hernandez RBI base hit. In the 3rd inning, Will Smith got an RBI base hit to make it 2-0 Dodgers. In the 4th, Daulton Varsho put the Blue Jays on the board with a 2-run homerun. Toronto quickly loaded the bases in the 6th with a Bo Bichette walk, a Alejandro Kirk single, and Daulton Varsho being hit-by-pitch. Isaiah Kiner-Falefa then came in to pinch run for Bichette. Ernie Clement took the opportunity and got a base hit to drive in a run. Nathan Lukes walked and another run scored. Andres Gimenez drove another run in with a single. Then, Addison Barger came in to pinch hit for Davis Schneider. With the bases loaded, Barger hit a bomb over the wall for a grand slam. It was the first ever pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled. Alejandro Kirk came up and mashed another homerun to make it 11-2. The Dodgers got two runs back in the 7th on a Shohei Ohtani homerun. The Blue Jays won 11-4, getting the 1-0 advantage over Los Angeles.
