NBA Playoffs
The NBA playoffs are now in conference finals. The Oklahoma Thunder lead the San Antonio Spurs 2-1 in the West. Spurs players De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper both returned from injury in Game 3. San Antonio won the first matchup 122-115 in 2OT’s. OKC won 122-113 and 123-108 in Games 2 and 3. In the East, the New York Knicks lead the Cleveland Cavaliers 2-0. New York won Game 1, 115-104, and Game 2, 109-93.
NHL Playoffs
The NHL Playoffs are rolling on in the conference finals as well. The Vegas Golden Knights have jumped to a surprising lead over the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 in the West.. Colorado won the Presidents' Trophy this season for being the NHL’s best team. Vegas won both games by scores of 4-2 and 3-1. In the East, the Montreal Canadiens lead the Carolina Hurricanes 1-0. The Habs have won the Stanley Cup a record 24 times. Montreal is also trying to end Canada’s 33-year Stanley Cup drought, which is also their own drought. They were the last team from Canada to hoist the cup since 1993. The Canadiens won Game 1, 6-2.
MLB Standings Check-In
In the AL East, the Tampa Bay Rays have won 21 of their last 25 games and lead the division at 34-15. They are followed by the New York Yankees at 30-22. The defending AL champs, the Toronto Blue Jays, are third at 24-27. The Boston Red Sox are next at 22-28. Last in the AL East are the Baltimore Orioles at 22-29.
In the AL Central, the Cleveland Guardians lead the division at 31-22. The Chicago White Sox are next at 26-24. The Minnesota Twins are in third at 24-27. The Kansas City Royals are in 4th at 20-31. The Detroit Tigers round out the division at 20-32.
In the AL West, the Athletics are in first place at 26-25. The Seattle Mariners follow at 25-27. After them are the Texas Rangers at 24-26. In 4th place, the Houston Astros are 21-31. The Los Angeles Angels round out the division are 18-34.
In the NL East, the Atlanta Braves are in first at 36-16. The Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals are next, at 25-26 and 25-27, respectively. The Miami Marlins are 23-29. The New York Mets are in last at 22-29.
The Milwaukee Brewers are 30-18 and lead the NL Central. The St Louis Cardinals are 28-21, and the Chicago Cubs are 29-22. The Cincinnati Reds are 26-24, and the Pittsburgh Pirates are 26-25.
In the NL West, the Los Angeles Dodgers are 31-20 and the San Diego Padres are 30-20. The Arizona Diamondbacks are in third at 26-24. The San Francisco Giants are 20-31. The Colorado Rockies are 20-32.
