MLB Predictions Update

Toronto Blue Jays 6-7

The Blue Jays started strong. They swept the Athletics in the opening series of the season. But then things went south after going a combined 1-5 record vs. the Rockies and White Sox. Last season, the Rockies and White Sox were the two worst teams in baseball. The Blue Jays then lost 1-2 in a World Series rematch against the Dodgers. They are coming off of a win over Minnesota to take a 1-0 advantage in that series.

Hail to the Victors- Michigan Champs!

The Michigan Wolverines are Men’s Basketball National Champions. Michigan matched up with the Connecticut Huskies in the finals. The game started out back and forth, with Michigan taking a 33-28 lead into halftime. Michigan then pulled away, leading by as much as 11. The Wolverines held off a late UConn rally to win 69-63 and capture the title, their second in program history. The Wolverines went 2-15 (13%) when shooting from three. However, they made 25 of their 28 free throws. Elliot Cadeau led the way for Michigan with 19 points.

UCLA Women Victorious

In the Women’s basketball championship, the UCLA Bruins faced the South Carolina Gamecocks in the title game. It was never a contest. The Bruins dominated throughout, winning 79-51 to capture the trophy. UCLA shot 42% from beyond the three-point arc. Gabriel Jaquez had 21 points leading UCLA.

NBA Playoffs Picture

The NBA regular season ends Sunday. The Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched their conferences respective one seeds. The Spurs and Nuggets are locked into the two seeds. The Knicks and Cavaliers are third and fourth in the east. The Nuggets are third in the west, with the Lakers and Rockets on their tail one and two games behind respectively. The Timberwolves are the west’s six seed. The Suns and Warriors are seventh and tenth in the west play-in tournament. The Trailblazers and Clippers are tied for eighth, with Sunday determining who gets that eight seed. The Hawks, Raptors, Magic, and 76ers are within two games of each other battling for the last two automatic playoff spots. The Hornets and Heat are a game and a pair of games behind the 76ers.
